A Day in the Life of an RSH Relocation Coordinator

August 6th, 2024

At RSH, we often receive questions about how we manage relocations and find homes in the Netherlands. That is why we'd like to share an inside look at our 'kitchen'. In this two-part blog series, titled 'A Day in the Life', we will take you through the daily work of both our Relocation Coordinators and our Immigration Lawyers.

What Does a Relocation Coordinator Do?

A Relocation Coordinator at RSH is responsible for the entire relocation process. This includes informing clients about everything needed for their move to the Netherlands, finding homes, organizing municipal registrations, assisting with school, doctor, and dentist registrations, and opening bank accounts. In short, everything you can think of in terms of administration and formalities when moving to the Netherlands. The Relocation Coordinator ensures that the right people and resources are utilized and that the appropriate appointments are made.

A Day in the Life of an RSH Relocation Coordinator

9:00 AM The day always starts with consulting various databases, our network of real estate agents and home search professionals, and well-known rental portals for current housing availability. Then, viewings are immediately scheduled.

10:30 AM Once the viewings are scheduled, our clients are informed and prepared as thoroughly as possible. The Relocation Coordinator plays a coordinating role here, while our Field Consultants organize the actual viewings together with the clients.

11:30 AM After reviewing ongoing tasks such as scheduling viewings and making appointments, new requests for desired support are assessed. The first introductions are scheduled. During these conversations, the needs and wishes of the new client are mapped out, and—very importantly—expectations are managed.

1:30 PM After viewings, we receive feedback from our Field Consultant. If the client is interested, we quickly liaise with the real estate agent to ensure the home is appointed to our client. The Relocation Coordinator and Field Consultant work closely together in this process. Our extensive network of real estate agents often ensures that most negotiations run smoothly.
