Travelers from China to the Netherlands must have negative test result

Travelers older than twelve years old arriving from China, whose final destination is the Netherlands, must have a negative COVID-19 test result upon their arrival in the Netherlands. This extra precaution is taken from 10th January 2023. In addition, and with immediate effect, people travelling on flights to and from China are urgently advised to wear a medical face mask.
For travellers, this means:
- Travelers must have a negative test result before boarding their plane to the Netherlands;
- The test result may have been issued on the basis of a NAAT(PCR)-test or an antigen test that is no more than 48 hours old at the time of departure to the Netherlands;
- A check will take place upon arrival at Schiphol airport.
The test certificate must contain the following information:
- Data that makes it possible to identify the person who was tested and when they were tested;
- The result of the antigen test or the NAAT(PCR) test;
- The conclusion stated in Dutch or English that the tested person is not infected with COVID-19 at that time;
- A logo or characteristic of an institute or doctor where or by whom the test was administered.
In addition, there is an immediate urgent advice to wear a medical mouth mask on flights to and from China. Travelers will also receive a free self-test and information about its use at Schiphol airport.
Travellers arriving from China at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport will also still receive a free self-test and instructions on how to use it. These measures are being introduced well in advance of Chinese New Year, when a peak in arrivals from China is expected.
